Contaminated sediment Dredging and GeoTube management – Bulla VIC

TK Marine was engaged to desilt a HDPE lined washwater storage dam whilst it remained on-line, the contaminated sediment was chemically dosed and dewatered using Geotubes, TK Marine’s manned dredge was setup using winch-operated traversal to ensure no damage to the liner rather than opting for outboard manoeuvrability.

Steel Fines Dredging – Melbourne VIC

A time-critical 3-week job of removing 1000 tonnes of Steel Fines and Mill Scale in a process-water lagoon in Melbourne, it was critical that the turbidity of the lagoon water was kept to a minimum throughout the project to ensure no blockage of pumps further down the line, this was achieved using winches and silt-curtains. Dredge Spoils were flocculated and captured in a Geotube.

Biosolids Dredging – Western VIC

Removal of over 40,000m3 of Biosolids over 3 lagoons from a WWTP. Sludge was pumped over 500m away into an array of Geotubes with the assistance of a booster pump. TK Marine used a combination of manned and robotic dredges to complete this job over a 6 month period.

Pontoon Manufacturing - Melbourne VIC

TK Marine was engaged to design and construct a specialised access pontoon with custom brackets to ensure the pontoon would stay attached to the water during significant water level fluctuation, as well as any wild weather events the pontoon may experience.

Abattoir Sludge Removal and GeoTube management – Tallangatta

Using a Solids Transfer pump TK Marine pumped and dosed organic material into a GeoTube to allow space for more process waste. Using flocculate that would capture the sediment however would not affect the materials ability to be used a fertiliser for local farms to ensure a more environmental conscious outcome for the process waste.
